Live-In Housekeeper - Scotland, UK - £28,000 Plus A 2 Separate 2 Bed House
We are looking to hire a driving, live-in housekeeper to work on a Shooting lodge in rural Scotland
Working on a stunning shooting estate all staff applying must be comfortable with taxidermy, confident drivers and be looking to work in a rural location
Hours of Work:
Principals not in residence
08:00 to 16:00 with 5 days on and 2 days off out of 7. 1 Hour break. Generally, Mon – Fri.
Principals in residence
Whatever hours are required to fulfil the criteria of the position. It is understood that weekends will be worked when Principals are in residence.
Candidate requirements:
Essential:
- Experience as a housekeeper or within a similar cleaning environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Compassionate and caring nature, with the desire to provide comfort to our live-in guests.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and methods, including cleaning of sensitive materials
- Driving license
General Responsibilities (During Family Visits):
- Reporting to House Manager as line manager
- Line manager to live-in cleaner
- Main point of contact for the cleaning of the Lodge
- Laundering as follow:
- Family and guest laundry
- Bed and table linen
- To take clothes/linen to the dry cleaners as instructed
- Bed linen should be changed at least every four days or more frequently when necessary, and on changeover of guests
- Turn down procedure when family/guests in residence:
- Curtains closed, lights on and beds turned down
- Cleaning, vacuuming, and laying of fires within the lodge
- Laundry, Boot Room, Gun Room, Drying Room (and associated areas) to be always kept clean and tidy.
- Care of outdoor clothing in the Boot Room
- Driving for shopping and other Estate duties as required
- Organising and managing private Lodge functions and shoot lunches in association with Estate Management and relevant staff.
- Possible meal service for the Family
General Responsibilities (between visits):
- Reporting to House Manager as line manager
- Line manager to live-in cleaner
- Main point of contact for the cleaning of the Lodge
- Create and maintain a programme of thorough, regular, ‘Spring Cleaning’ throughout the Lodge and associated buildings.
- Polishing and buffing of the wooden floors with the help of other Lodge staff
- The cleaning of the inside of the windows including their thresholds
- All taps should be turned on and run and toilets flushed at least once a week.
- Reporting and responsible to the House Manager/Factor on all administrative matters
- Ensure the cleaning products and toiletry store-rooms are sufficiently stocked.
- Close communication with Housekeeper and House Manager
- Monitor the house perimeter and ensure that paintwork and window ledges are kept clean and cobweb free and that pathways are swept and tidy at all times
- Security: Report any incident details to the House Manager
- Flower arranging and care of houseplants.
- Additional lodges – should be always kept clean and tidy as use for overflow / additional accommodation.
- Assist with ensuring the Lunch huts are clean and tidy, fires are working and fire wood available prior to the shoot season in August.
PACKAGE
- Up to £28k salary dependant on experience

Daily Governess/Senior Nanny – Mayfair, Central London - £70,000
We are looking to recruit a top level, experienced Governess/Senior Nanny to work for an established, VIP, international Family living in Mayfair.
Overseeing the social/mental welfare of 3 children; 10, 11 and 13 years old you will be responsible for organising every aspect of their daily lives.
Working Monday to Friday 9am – 6pm and travelling during school holidays, this role would suit a well presented, caring Governess, ideally with English as a first language to assist with homework.
Duties:
- Daily sports activities/school calendar/travel
- Liaising with tutors/teachers
- Assisting with all homework/personal shopping/packing
- Arranging playdates/parties/events
- Co-ordinating with chauffeurs/staff/parents
- Responsible for all social/educational and pastoral care
